Coercive Abuse Recovery Education & Support Group (CARES)

Coercive Abuse Recovery Education & Support Group (CARES)

CARES Group is an informal, peer-led book study and support space for individuals who have experienced undue influence or coercive control within a group or relationship. The group centers on reflection, discussion, and shared learning through books by leading voices in the recovery field, with participant suggestions welcomed.

The format is flexible and non-linear. Participants are invited to engage at their own pace, sharing insights from readings and personal experience in a collaborative, non-directive environment. The group emphasizes connection, reflection, and the gradual process of rebuilding autonomy and self-trust.

Drop-in participation is welcome, with no ongoing commitment required. To support a safe and respectful environment, new participants are asked to complete a brief intake/orientation process prior to joining.

The group is free of charge, with optional donations.
