Cult Information and Family Support (CIFS) is an Australian non-profit organization founded in 1996 by a group of parents whose children had been recruited into cults. What began as mutual support evolved into a broader effort to understand the common dynamics of coercion, thought reform, and psychological harm present across high-control groups.
Today, CIFS brings together former members, families, friends, and professionals to provide support, increase public awareness, and advocate for stronger protections against psychological abuse. The organization is recognized nationally for its work supporting individuals affected by cults and cultic relationships.
CIFS offers information and guidance to those who have left high-control groups, as well as to families and friends concerned about loved ones still involved. Its work extends beyond support to public education and policy advocacy, with a focus on strengthening legal frameworks to better protect individuals and communities from harm.
