Debbie Glander is a licensed psychotherapist. She works with individuals who have exited cults and other high-control groups. Her work is informed by both her clinical training and her own lived experience of leaving a cult or high-control group.
Clients often arrive in therapy carrying experiences of shame, confusion, isolation, and the lingering psychological effects of coercive environments, including cognitive dissonance, emotional suppression, black-and-white thinking, and learned dependency. Ms. Glander provides a therapeutic space in which these experiences can be acknowledged, explored, and worked through with care and clarity.
