Doni P. Whitsett, PhD, LCSW

Doni Whitsett, Ph.D, LCSW is a Fulbright Scholar and Clinical Professor Emerita of Social Work at the University of Southern California, where she taught for 28 years. She is a trauma-focused therapist with nearly four decades of experience working with cult-involved clients. As an A AASECT certified sex therapist, Dr. Whitsett specializes in sexual abuse in high-control environments. Her clinical and scholarly work has contributed significantly to understanding the long-term impact of abuse in closed systems. Dr. Whitsett also consults on cult-related media projects through USC’s Norman Lear Center.
