Molly Koshatka is a counseling graduate student at Southern Methodist University, specializing in trauma-informed care. She brings both lived experience and formal training to her work supporting individuals recovering from high-control groups.
She completed recovery programs at Wellspring under Dr. Paul Martin and participated in a long-term support group for former members led by Doug and Wendy Duncan. She now facilitates the online support group previously led by the Duncans, continuing their work in providing accessible, peer-based support.
Her approach is grounded in trauma-informed principles and focuses on helping individuals rebuild autonomy, process experiences of coercion, and reconnect with life beyond high-control environments. She has particular insight into the ongoing complexities of leaving groups where family members remain involved.
She is also a high-school French teacher.
