Olive Leaf Network is a survivor-led organization dedicated to supporting individuals who have left high-demand religious groups and spiritually abusive communities. The network brings together former members, as well as friends and family, many of whom have direct lived experience of coercive control, religious trauma, and excommunication.
The organization focuses on connecting individuals with support during and after the process of leaving, helping to bridge the gap between isolation and reintegration into wider society. Its work is grounded in peer support, shared experience, and the recognition of the complex emotional, social, and identity challenges that can follow involvement in high-control environments.
Olive Leaf Network also engages in advocacy and public education, raising awareness of the dynamics of spiritual abuse, how recruitment and control operate, and the lived realities of former members. Its approach emphasizes accessibility, inclusivity, and practical support across a wide range of backgrounds and belief systems.
The name “Olive Leaf” reflects the organization’s core ethos: offering a sign of hope, connection, and new beginnings to those navigating life after coercive or high-demand groups.
